BERRY SMOOTHIE

This has been a go-to of mine for years. It is a refreshing smoothie bowl that can serve as breakfast or snack at any time of the day.

Smoothies are a quick and easy way to add nutrients into your daily routine. It's also a way to hide some fruits or veggies the your littles may not want to it.


Berries are high in antioxidants and other health promoting benefits. Smoothies are a great way to include more of nature's candy in your daily diet.

BERRY SMOOTHIE BOWL RECIPE

Total time: 5 minutes

Servings: 1


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries

  • 3/4 cup cranberry juice (could sub for apple juice if you don't enjoy the tart cranberry taste)

  • 1 tbs chia seeds

  • 1 tbs hemp seeds

  • 1 scoop of your favourite vegan protein powder

  • 1 tsp ashwagandha powder (optional)

  • 1 tsp acai powder (optional)

How to make it:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a high speed blender.

  2. Blend until smooth (you may need to add a little water depending on what blender you are using).

  3. Serve and enjoy immediately.

  4. Add your favourite toppings. Here I added some granola, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.
