Remember that what makes a good glory bowl is the combination of ingredients. You want to always think of starting with adding a grain, a green and a protein. From there you can choose any veggies of you liking and the kind of dressing you are in the mood for.


This turmeric dressing is packed with bioactive compounds that have amazing health benefits. Black pepper is a great addition to turmeric has it increases its absorption. Give it a try!

The fun thing about glory bowls, or some call them buddha bowls, is that you can get very creative and adjust the ingredients and dressing to your liking.

TURMERIC TEMPEH GLORY BOWL RECIPE

Prep time: 10 min

Cook time: 20-25 min

Total time: 35 min Servings: 4


Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown rice

  • 1 large yam - diced

  • 240g. tempeh - cut in small pieces

  • 6-8 cups of your favourite greens (here I used romaine and kale)

  • sauerkraut (optional topping)

Dressing

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp Italian dried herbs

  • salt & pepper to taste

How to make it:

  1. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the package.

  2. Cook the diced yam in the oven at 400F for 25-30 minutes or in the air fryer at 380F for 18-20 minutes. Stir halfway through cooking time and keep an eye on them.

  3. Pan fry the tempeh for a couple minutes until golden brown.

  4. Mix all the ingredients for the dressing.

  5. Assemble your bowl.

  6. Enjoy!
